The following is a list of resources available to those who have been affected by COVID-19 and need assistance.

Louisiana 211 Network

Contact the Louisiana 211 Network with questions about coronavirus by dialing 211 or texting the keyword LACOVID to 898211

 

Louisiana Workforce Commission

To file an unemployment claim, go to www.louisianaworks.net/hire or call 866-783-5567.

 

Medicaid Resources

Persons who have lost a job or have reduced hours may be eligible for Medicaid.  They can apply by phone by calling 1-888-342-6207 or online at http://www.mymedicaid.la.gov

SNAP (Food Assistance)

Louisiana residents can text GETSMAP to 898211, email LAHelpU.DCFS@la.gov, or call 1-888-LA-HELP-U (1-888-524-3578) for information on receiving food assistance.

 

Small Businesses

Business owners impacted by COVID-19 can obtain information on assistance at http://www.sba.gov/disaster and https://www.opportunitylouisiana.com/covid-19-assistance.

 

Homeowners

Those who are affected by COVID-9 can contact the Federal Housing Agency (FHA) for more information on assistance by visiting www.fhfa.gov/coronavirus

 

Keeping Calm through COVID Hotline

Anyone feeling overwhelmed with stress, fear, or anxiety surrounding the public health emergency can contact 1-866-310-7977.  Trained counselors are available 24/7.  All calls are confidential.
