Report from Business leads to Drug Arrest of Baton Rouge Woman


The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report that a lady had mistakenly dropped a bag of methamphetamine on the floor of a local business. When Corporal John Giles and Deputy Jace Sauce arrived, they located the bag of drugs and the lady that had reportedly dropped it. When speaking to the lady, she admitted that the bag was crystal methamphetamine and that it was hers. The deputies also discovered more methamphetamine, a set of weighing scales, and a number of Percocet prescription pills. She admitted that she was selling the drugs to be able to buy Christmas gifts.

Claire Melissa Brewton, 34 years old, of 1221 Bob Petty, Baton Rouge, was arrested for Possession of C.D.S. II (crystal methamphetamine) with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Percocet, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
