Another Record Set by Grant Parish Sheriff's Office with 99.9973% Property Tax Collection Rate

There is a reason why the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office has handled the annual Grant Parish property tax sale for the past 7 years.

On June 5, 2019, citizens gathered at the Courthouse to take part in the auction and sale.

There were 8,430 property tax notices this year. Of those, G.P.S.O. collected 99.9973% of those taxes; there were only 23 cases where taxes were not paid. McCain said the success was not only the highest in Grant Parish history, but is believed to be the highest in the entire state of Louisiana. He thanked Deputy Rose Tolbert for her hard work in helping reach that level of success.

“It’s our responsibility to collect the property taxes in the parish, and I’m proud of the way it has been done,” said McCain. “As Sheriff, the last thing I want to do is see someone lose their home or property to unpaid property taxes.”
