The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office is having a Parent’s Academy in different communities throughout Grant Parish. The Parent Academy will update you on the latest concerns with students and the dangers of social media.
With the beginning of a new school year and the popularity of the internet and social media among students, this is a very important issue. “I truly believe that this will make parents and grandparents more aware of what our children and grandchildren are exposed to on the internet”, stated Sheriff McCain.
Each session will begin at 6:00 p.m. and last about one hour. They will be held at the following locations and dates:
• Hargis Baptist Church on August 20.
• Dry Prong First Baptist Church on August 27.
• Georgetown Pentecostal Church on August 29.
• Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective’s building on September 5.
• New Prospect Baptist Church on September 16.
• Pollock First Baptist Church on October 1.
