Beginning in 2013, the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Program was implemented in an effort to address the overwhelming issue of loose and stray dogs in the parish.
The program is funded by the Sheriff’s Office, Police Jury and the towns in Grant Parish. This is another example of people working together to provide the best service possible for Grant Parish.
Since the program’s beginning, the animal control deputies have responded to thousands of calls for service. In 2019, they have
averaged 100 calls per month.
