Local Ministers Provide Thanksgiving Meal to GPSO Inmates

This Thanksgiving season, thanks to the efforts of local pastors; a special meal and message was delivered to the inmates at the Grant Parish Detention Center.

On November 26, 2019, East Winnfield Baptist Church’s Richard DeBusk, his brother Harry, Montgomery First Baptist Church Pastor Lloyd Whitman, Dry Prong First Baptist Pastor Drew Gardner, Hebron Baptist Pastor Travis Sanders and other pastors delivered care packages, food and drinks to the inmates and staff of the Grant Parish Detention Center.

“The Holy Spirit is responsible for this, and we’re following His leadership,” said Harry DeBusk.

“We all just commonly band together, because it says in James 2 that faith without works is dead. We profess faith, but it also says to go to those in the prisons, so we’re trying to do that.

“What we’ve done today, we’ve done it for these inmates, but we’re also doing for the Lord, because the Lord loves these folks in the jail,” added Pastor Whitman.
