Report of Reckless Driver Leads to Pursuit, Attempted Carjacking, and Drug Arrest

The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a reckless driver near South Grant Elementary school. When Cpl. Jimmi McCully tried to stop the vehicle, it sped away and drove into someone’s back yard and the driver ran from the vehicle.


Deputy Krissalyn Bonnette arrived to help locate the person and was flagged down by a motorist that explained that a man jumped in front of her while she was driving, causing her to stop and yelled, “I’ve been robbed”, as he opened her back door and tried to get into her vehicle. The driver accelerated, causing the man to fall out of the car.


The person was located hiding in a shed in the Prospect community and arrested.


Obadiah Dolejsi, 42 years old, of 6804 Masonic Drive, Alexandria, was arrested for:


  • Attempted Carjacking

  • Flight from an Officer

  • Criminal Trespassing

  • Unauthorized Entry of a Dwelling

  • Possession of Methamphetamine

  • Possession of Synthetic Marijuana

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

  • An outstanding warrant from Rapides Parish for Theft of a Vehicle
