The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a wreck in a parking lot of a gas station. When Corporal T.C. Vice arrived, he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from one of the vehicles involved. The driver and passenger told Cpl. Vice that they had been smoking marijuana. Cpl. Deputies Daenen and Null Graduate SWAT School
Grant Parish Sheriff’s Deputies Zac Daenen and Kerri Null recently graduated from the S.W.A.T. team training school in Calcasieu Parish. The 40 hour course consisted of firearm training, building and vehicle searches, less lethal deployment techniques and much more.

Report of Suspicious Person Leads to Drug Arrest of Colfax Man
The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious person in the Aloha community. When Sergeant Sterling Willis arrived and the person saw him, he threw an object into the grass on the edge of the road. Sgt. Willis found the object that was thrown and inside of it was crystal methamphetamine and a syringe full of liquid methamphetamine. Investigation leads to Drug Arrest of Pollock Man and Woman
The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office along with Louisiana Probation and Parole went to a home on Stuart Lake Road looking for a wanted person. When they arrived, they discovered that the person that they were searching for was not there. They did notice several bags of crystal methamphetamine throughout the house along with a used syringe. Report of Burglary Leads to Arrest of Pollock Man and Woman
The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office received reports of storage buildings being broken into. Corporal John Giles and Deputy Ethan Hemphill were patrolling the storage buildings and caught a man and woman that had just cut the lock off of a unit. They were removing the items and putting them in the vehicle that they were in. Deputies also discovered three other storage units that had been broken into. Theft of Fuel Investigation Leads to Arrest of Dry Prong Man
The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office had three different cases of theft of fuel from logging sites and one from the Grant Parish Police Jury. An investigation by Sgt. Josh Daniels, Cpl. Zac Daenan, Detectives Ryan James and Dale Whitstine led to the arrest of a Dry Prong man for the thefts. James “Randy” Martin, 54 years old, of 3880 Hwy. 167, Dry Prong, was charged with 3 counts of Theft and Simple Burglary.


Patrol Encounter Leads to Drug Arrest of Ball Man
Grant Parish Sheriff’s Corporal T. C. Vice was patrolling and saw two people scavenging in a dumpster. When Cpl. Vice spoke to the two, the man told Cpl. Vice that he and his girlfriend were on a date and had been riding around looking in dumpsters. Cpl. Vice noticed digital scales in the vehicle and a loaded revolved between the front seats. Cpl. The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report from a business that two people were in the parking lot passing a pipe between them and smoking it. When Sergeant Danny Hebert arrived, he located the two and discovered that they were smoking methamphetamine.
