A traffic stop by Grant Parish Sheriff’s Corporal Jimmi McCully, his K-9 partner, Buffy, and Corporal Zac Daenen, led to the arrest of a Pineville woman after Buffy alerted to the vehicle. Jennifer Burlew, 46 years old, of 6018 Dean Street, Pineville, was arrested for Possession of C.D.S. II (methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.


Lena Man Arrested for Home Improvement Fraud
The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated a case where a man claimed to be a licensed contractor and performed an extensive amount of work on a new home. The homeowners learned that the man had done the work so improperly that they had to hire someone else to come and correct all of the mistakes that had been made. The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of someone trying to attack two people with an axe. A man had gone to visit his daughter and grandchildren when he was met with someone that had an axe who began swinging it at the man. Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Pollock Man
A Pollock Police Officer and a Grant Parish Deputy were on the side of the road on a traffic stop when a truck ran off of the road, nearly hitting the Pollock police car. Grant Parish Sheriff’s Corporal T.C. Vice responded to a suspicious person in the Pollock community. When he arrived, he found a man that said that he had run out of fuel and was going door to door asking for fuel. He told Cpl.
